Arcadia Boutique: Teal Product Review!
When shopping for your teal accessories and clothes, where do you turn? It’s no secret that I love and support local businesses, and Arcadia Boutique is a Philadelphia-based vintage and recycled clothing boutique. Featuring independent designers and eco-friendly brands is their speciality and it’s no surprise that they were voted “Best of Philly” twice. Their shop is a few blocks from my work and I got to meet Betsy and Ali (the owner). They are super-friendly and super-willing to work with Take Back Teal’s cause, and I know that you will love the great selection of teal clothing and accessories.
If you’re not in the Philly area, you can shop their online store – but I definitely suggest paying them a visit. Their shop has a unique personality that’s inviting and incredibly fun to to visit (they were almost too fun…my co-worker and I pretty much wanted to stay and shop instead of going back to work, heheh). I cannot wait to go back again and I’m looking forward to sharing more reviews of their sometimes under-the-radar brand finds…and support them as they support using fashion to promote ovarian cancer awareness!
Tinsel Dress, size small, $110.00. by dolce vita.
Light, summery, airy, delicate, and easy to wear. Every time I put this dress on, I love it more. Paired with a great set of coral patent pumps, this teal handkerchief print dress is lined with a white slip that’s so soft I hardly know it’s there – which is perfect, since it keeps it comfortable enough to wear on a hot summer day. It’s sweet enough to wear to dinner at a sidewalk cafe, yet casual enough to pair with brown flat sandals and worn to the boardwalk or to your local music festival.
For a shorter girl like me (I’m 5’3″), the size small hit at a good point (mid-thigh), so even with the 4-inch heels, it was still cute and innocent. But…my absolute favorite part of this dress? The adjustable straps allowed me to adjust the neckline as necessary, meaning that a girl of any bust size can keep a strapless bra optional. The silhouette of the dress is so flowy that it just works. I can honestly say this dress is worth it because it is just so fun to wear.
Macrame Necklace, $38.00.
This braided and beaded teal rope necklace may not be a statement necklace, but it’s definitely a great piece to add flair and dimension to any outfit. The large wooden brown bead in the center keeps it down-to-earth, which balances out the bold colors of teal and red. I don’t prefer to wear metal necklaces during the hotter months, so this well-made cotton and beaded rope necklace is a great option (especially if you’re only planning to wear teal on Tuesdays with an accessory).
Leather and Teal Beaded Wrap Bracelet, $52.00
Cori spotted this one, and I’m glad she did. It’s subdued enough to not overwhelm a bold outfit, but bright enough to add a tiny pop of teal color to a more basic look. It’s tightly braided (which means no “oops, it snagged and broke” issues) and can be used with a number of other bracelets to create a great layered look.
Anyone into vintage, well-made clothing that’s not going be found anywhere else would appreciate Arcadia Boutique’s looks.
If you’re planning on adding these pieces to your summer wardrobe (which you should), head on over to Arcadia Boutique at 819 N. 2nd Street, Philadelphia. Not all of the styles shown above will be available online – guess you just have to come visit the city! 🙂
