Turn it Teal Tuesdays: Turn the Towns Teal, Inc.
Tuesdays at Take Back Teal are “Turn it Teal Tuesday” and I’ll be featuring an organization that works specifically for ovarian cancer. Much like “Must Know Monday“, “Turn it Teal Tuesday” will hopefully give these wonderful groups some exposure and provide you with some new helpful resources.
Today’s featured non-profit is Turn the Towns Teal, Inc., a campaign that began not more than 40 minutes from where I grew up in New Jersey. Depending on where you live, you may have seen its efforts throughout your town during the month of September. Teal ribbons are tied throughout town centers (I have seen them on bridge posts, trees, and more) and volunteers hand out symptom cards.
Gail MacNeil of Chatham, NJ, founded Turn the Towns Teal, Inc. during her incredible 10 year battle with Stage IIIC ovarian cancer. Like many others, she realized that not enough was being done to inform the public of this terrible disease.
Anyone can join the campaign to Turn the Towns Teal and bring the news to your town or city.
